Accessibility
Summary: we aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA on this website. Some of that has been verified and some has not. What follows says which is which, rather than claiming conformance we have not tested.
Our commitment
We sell to health networks, publicly funded organisations and large employers, many of whom are themselves obliged to procure accessible technology. We hold this website to the same expectation: it should be usable with a keyboard, with a screen reader, at high zoom, and without relying on colour alone to convey meaning.
The standard we work to is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What has been verified
The following have been checked across every page on this site:
- Every page has exactly one
h1, and heading levels descend without skipping, so a screen reader's heading outline reflects the real structure. - Every form field has a programmatically associated label. Placeholder text is never used as the only label.
- Every image carries an
altattribute; decorative images use an empty one so they are skipped rather than announced. - The page language is declared, and the site is built as ordinary HTML pages, so browser translation and reader modes work.
- No page scrolls horizontally at a 375 pixel viewport width.
- The navigation menu can be opened and closed from the keyboard, closes on Escape, and returns focus to the control that opened it.
- Interface animation is suppressed for visitors who have asked their system to reduce motion.
What we know is outstanding
We would rather list these than imply they do not exist:
- This site has not been audited by an independent accessibility specialist, and it has not been tested end to end with assistive technology by someone who relies on it daily. Our checks are our own.
- Colour contrast has been verified in specific places rather than exhaustively across every combination of text and background.
- Some decorative pictograms are emoji characters, which screen readers may announce by name. We are replacing these over time.
- Articles in our blog were migrated from an older platform. Their structure has been normalised, but the wording of individual links within those articles has not been reviewed for out-of-context clarity.
The Talcura platform
This statement covers this website. The Talcura recruiting and onboarding platform is a separate product with its own interface, and candidates applying for a job may encounter it rather than this site. If accessibility of the application experience matters to your organisation — and for most of our customers it is a procurement requirement — ask us during your evaluation and we will answer specifically rather than generally.
Telling us about a barrier
If something on this site prevented you from doing what you came to do, we want to know, and you do not need to explain it in technical terms. Tell us the page and what happened.
Email privacy@talcura.com or call +1 (416) 431-9088. We aim to respond within five business days, and if a fix will take longer than that we will tell you what we are doing and offer another way to get the information you needed.
